FAQ's

DFAT's Smart Traveler Website advises that visitors to Sri Lanka "exercise a high degree of caution. Pay close attention to your personal security at all times and monitor the media about possible new safety or security risks".

This level is the same as India, Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal and many other developing nations.  Hidden Trails Sri Lanka continually monitor local conditions and maintain a high level of situational awareness in order that guests can enjoy the pristine environment of this amazing country.

Hidden Trails have partnered with Connaissance de Ceylan to provide our guests with the highest standards of accommodation utilising great hotels and amazing "glamping campsites".  Our Chefs provide our guests with an amazing array of Sri Lankan and Western Cuisines catering for all tastes.  If you want to take a peak at some of the places you will stay??..... Google "Wild Glamping Knuckles", "The Tea and Experience Factory" and "Aliya Resort & Spa".

Like many Asian countries, westerners are often amazed by the traffic and the hustle and bustle of the major cities and towns however the locals navigate the roads with ease.  Hidden Trails utilise a selection of Sri Lanka's best drivers and all vehicles are of the highest standard and maintained/serviced regularly.  In the unlikely event of a breakdown, Hidden Trails have at its disposal back up vehicles that can be deployed immediately so that your trip can continue with minimal inconvenience to your itinerary.

All guides were initially recommended to us by our in-country partners and interviewed by Stewart Kreltszheim & Peter Miller to ensure their suitability to meet the high standards expected by the international trekking community.  Each guide is then trained personally by Peter & Stewart who accompany them on treks until they are satisfied with their competency and proficiency in keeping a trekking group safe while explaining the history, flora, fauna and stories of this spectacular country.

Only Hidden Trails - Sri Lanka offer such a vast range of treks along paths never before opened up for the international trekking community. We have obtained special permission to take our guests into world heritage wilderness areas.  Partnering with local communities, many of our treks have been navigated, mapped, rated (1 chilli to 5 chilli) and even named by Stewart and Peter.

Please do!!! We can tailor a holiday to suit individuals, groups, families and trekkers of all abilities. If you are just passing through Sri Lanka or staying for an extended period of time, we are committed to working with you to create memories that you will keep forever.

Our treks are designed to integrate into existing itineraries and we can arrange for you to be picked up and dropped off at any location so you can continue immersing yourself into the rich culture of Sri Lanka.
